New: Goodbye Google Analytics, Welcome to GA4
Why is it necessary to immediately activate the new version of Google Analytics GA4?
On March 16, 2022, Google announced that from July 1, 2023 it will not be possible to use the old version of Google Analytics (Universal Analytics), because it will be completely replaced by the new version GA4.
After the disposal, the previously processed data will be archived for at least six months and subsequently will no longer be visible: it is therefore necessary to switch to the new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) interface.
But be careful, the switch to the new product must be done manually!
- First of all, because the data of the old Google Analytics are NOT exportable in GA4;
- With GA4 radically changes the model of data collection and management. Therefore, it is necessary to create a data history starting from today in GA4;
- To get ready for the disposal of the old Google Analytics:
You have a year to learn how to read the data and consult the information in GA4. The platform is totally different from the old Google Analytics; - To make the transition comfortably: if you decide to postpone the transition to July 1, 2023, you may not have the time and support necessary to migrate to GA4, especially if you have an e-commerce.
